Kamen alle nicht so gut an, diese Sprüche vom deutschen Finanzminister Schäuble, ("one of the key architects of europe's Age of Austerity"), in Florenz am European University Institute.
Weshalb er mit seinem letzten Spruch ("If you are prepared to run for public office, you also have to be willing to accept a debate about you.") beim Wort und also in die Zange genommen wurde und in Gottes Namen akzeptieren musste, dass er sich mit einer Horde angriffslustiger Schweine konfrontiert sah:
- die kein Hehl daraus machten, wem ihre Sympathie gilt , nämlich den sogenannten PIIGS (den Ländern Portugal, Italien, Irland, Griechenland, Spanien):
Wir sehen uns genötigt zu entlarven, was hier im Gange ist, und wollen unser Privileg nutzen, persönlich einem von Europas Schlächtern gegenüberzustehen zu dürfen, nämlich um ihm davon zu erzählen, was Millionen von Europäern ihm gerne erzählen würden.
- nämlich von dem Umstand, dass auf Europas Schlachtbank das kritische Denken noch höchst lebendig und so schnell nicht totzukriegen ist:
We refuse the 'TINA' narrative and its increasingly breathless mantra that "There is No Alternative!", we denounce neoliberal austerity as not neutral, but socially, politically and nationally partisan, and we claim the right and duty, as part of an academic community of social scientists, to engage in the collective task of finding alternative routes to a future based on social justice, democracy and equality, and to participate in the global struggle against the zombie neoliberalism that seeks to turn crisis into its own opportunity.
